“Prayer is a cry of the heart.” This statement about prayer has always been my favorite and I began the evening talking about defines this activity – something that is as natural as breathing but at the same time can be the hardest thing to get to on the “to do” list. Yet, there are so many different ways to pray and so much at stake in our busy lives, that not making prayer a priority seems foolish. The evening was spent talking about the hows, whys, and whats of prayer, hopefully, inspiring us to persevere in the midst of our stressful and time constrained lives. Remembering that there is no “wrong” way to pray ~ anything that gets us to commune with God is ultimately good – can keep us on tract and hopeful as we continue to open up to God’s presence among us.
