As long as I can remember, one of my favorite ways to relate to Jesus is to know him as my “Shepherd.” The definition of shepherd is a person who tends, feeds, cares for, and guards flocks of sheep. He also watches them closely that not even one would stray or perish. As I reflect today on this Scripture, I am reminded that it is Jesus, himself, who looks after me and rescues me from dark places in my life and leads me to good pastures of hope and love and light. It is important to remember that Jesus, our Shepherd, will always seek our well being, for we are his flock and he loves us deeply. We can rest in that truth.
