“Remain in me, as I remain in you.” John 15: 3

Last year, during the month of May, I chose to write thirty-one entries dedicated to  Mary, based on the Litany of Loreto.  Many people responded with gratitude and resonance. Wonderfully, May is here again offering another opportunity to reflect more deeply on Our Lady. Just outside my office is a grotto dedicated to Our Lady of Guadalupe and almost every day I see people of all ages in prayer gathered around her.  Ubiquitous in California, the image of Guadalupe symbolizes to me the universal need for a spiritual mother who is strong and protective.  We need her wild, immaculate love to sustain and affirm us for the long haul. Our Lady, full of joy and yet the bearer of caverned sorrow, stands as a  steadfast presence of resilient faith–our model of the gentle yet fierce strength we need to live lives of meaning. We invite you to celebrate Mary this month with us!
