While visiting the Central Coast of California recently, we stopped at beautiful Morro Bay. While my family went surfing I decided to take a long walk on the beach. The gift I received that day were hundreds of sand dollars that had washed ashore! I love shells but my favorite shell is the sand dollar, not only for its beauty but also for the symbolism of what it represents. These beautiful white circles seem so delicate, yet they are able to survive living in the ocean with waves pounding them back and forth. We humans, like the fragile sand dollars, are also delicate. So how do we survive the waves of life that sometimes toss us back and forth? The only answer is God’s grace, which is always enough.
