“Do you understand what you are reading?” He replied, “How can I, unless someone instructs me?” Acts 8:31

The older I get, the more I love to read. I’ll read just about anything, anywhere, any time. However, I also feel as though I’m running out of time to read all the books on my list (and there are many). So I am now quite picky about what I deliberately choose to fill up my soul and spirit. “Read only the best,” was great advice given to me when I was young.  Digging deeper,  there is an interior need to “read” our lives, the people we know, the time in which we live, in order to understand what divine messages might there just under the surface of life. That’s a little trickier than just reading a spiritual book once in awhile. It has to do with being aware, awake, open to the invisible spirit world that holds us together. And most importantly, it means finding a wise guide who has navigated these pathways before and can help lead us toward greater illumination.
