When I called, you answered me; you built up strength within me. Psalm 138

“Let me hold up the mirror for you,” remarked one of my friends when I asked her to evaluate a sticky situation with me. I squirmed because I knew what she meant – that I was in for honest self-reflection. . I don’t like looking in the mirror. I see flaws and and I feel inadequate most of the time.  It takes great strength to take a peek once in awhile.  Like it or not, our lives mirror what has shaped us and what we value. Hopefully. with discipline and willingness to change and grow, we will become mirrors of justice, reflecting the Source of all mercy and fairness. Like Mary, we can then shine that reflected light out into our world in need.
