No, I’m not crazy!  We say “Happy New Year” because the church year (aka the liturgical year) does not follow the traditional calendar year. The first season of the new liturgical year begins THIS Sunday, December 2, with the beginning of Advent, our four week preparation for Christmas. All of the readings and themes for the entire year revolve around this calendar. For all of the specific dates for the 2012-13 liturgical year, check out this link:

FYI:  Each day during Advent, we invite you to check out a picture and caption post on this site and on our parish Facebook page. PLEASE LIKE US ON FACEBOOK so that we can spread the word to anyone who might want to make this holiday season more meaningful and focused.
