Despite a busy schedule filled with many wonderous things, I need some free time. You know, time to do anything I want without a care. “What do you do in your free time?”is one of my favorite queries.  A question within a question really, I seek to know whether or not there is open space in a person’s heart for more. If someone cannot really verbalize anything, a judgment pops up about balance.  Today, because we have busied ourselves into constant doing. free time has to be scheduled, like everything else, or it just doesn’t happen. The same goes for prayer, We knock ourselves out trying  to fit God into our lives when, in fact, it should really be the other way around.  Standing always on  holy ground, God has surrounded us with all the free time we need to simply be present. Then, the balancing act between free and scheduled time becomes like an effortless cairn marking the sacredness of life.
