“All those who sat in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.”  Acts 5:15

The very day that  the smiling picture of my Golden Retreiver, Chuy, was posted,  he took a turn for the worse and we had to set him free from his pain and suffering. I want to thank all of  you who sent your kind words of condolences for the passing of our beloved pet. Just a few days prior, I caught this photo of him looking intently at the statue of St. Francis in my backyard and wondered why he was so transfixed. True, I had been talking to Francis for awhile, the saint who loved animals so much, to please accompany my dog. It was as if they were having a conversation about the journey ahead. I like to think Francis was beckoning him into the spirit world where he would be free of suffering and gravity.  Some journeys are short and some are long. The life lived in between is what counts. During this season of rebirth, solace is found in these liminal experiences that witness time and again about the true meaning of life, death, and resurrection.
