There is nothing more joyous to me than a wedding of two hearts joined as one, so in love with each other. Last Saturday, a dear friend’s daughter married the man of her dreams in a beautiful church filled with enthusiastic friends and relatives. Everyone was smiling! The reception that followed was filled with dancing and merriment and a twinkle in the eye. I can’t help but think that the Lord loves weddings. Because God is love, He is the most honored guest, the Holy Presence that fills the hearts of all who love. He is the hope, in new beginnings, for marriages to be filled with love and laughter, through soft and hard times. We laughed. We danced. We prayed for the newlyweds and we didn’t run out of wine like the wedding in Cana! The newlyweds joined hands and hearts and God’s Holy Family for eternity. They did so with grace and joy, holding each other in wonder.
